Grandparents Rights

In Texas, a court can grant grandparent visitation of a grandchild if it is in the child’s best interest and one of the following circumstances exist:

  1. The parents are divorced;
  2. The parent abused or neglected the child;
  3. The parent has been found incompetent, is incarcerated or is dead;
  4. The Parent Child relationship has been terminated; or
  5. The child has lived with the grandparent for six months or more
